 PALAZZO GRANDE - UMBERTO GENEROSI
PALAZZO GRANDE is an ancient villa of the sixteenth century in the centre of a 30-hectare property that's been recently transformed into a residence where it's still possible to breathe rge atmosher e of a noble dwelling with its original furniture. The big park surrounding the swimming pool is theideal place to relax in the quietness of the Umbran countryside. The history of this palace back to Roman times when in this same place there was a "rustic villa". Afterwards, in the Middle Ages a fortified tower was built there and in the sixteenth century the palace was given its definitive aspect after important works of enlargement. Between 1846 and 1861, when Umbria was part of the Church State, the Palace was the seat of the Papal Delegation, since the Count Alessandro Baldeschi, who had become the owner of it and friend of Pope Pius IX, was appointed by the laters as his Delegate.
