Santarelli's Exhibition in Gualdo Tadino
En exceptional exhibition to celebrate the refined talent and boundless creativity of Alfredo Santarelli, absolute master of the ceramic art. It is the homage that Gualdo Tadino pays to his artist, after 50 years from his death.
Santarelli's Exhibition, homage
A spectacular exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday 25th October from 10.30 in the restored church of San Francesco, in Gualdo Tadino, where it will be possible to visit it until 28th February. Almost 300 works, including plates, vases and various objects represent the activity of Alfredo Santarelli - Master of ceramic art between the end of the nineteenth century and the first half of last century (from 1874 to 1957) in an itinerary going from the neo-renaissance commemorations and the historicism of majolica of the first period to the modern works, in liberty and ''decò'' style. The exhibition proposes the best of Santarelli's production, including many new works on loan.

The exhibition is considered one of the great events of 2008, with a cultural and tourist value strengthening the economic sector of Gualdo pottery production. It cost 160 thousand euro and it was possible to organise it also thanks to the 90 thousand euro of the Ministry of Productive Activities and to the decisive intervention of the Italian Association Town of Ceramics. Visiting hours will be: 10.30-12.30 and 15.30-18.30, every day but Monday morning. The ticket costs 3 euro. On Wednesdays admission is free for all the inhabitants of Gualdo Tadino.
