Important prehistoric agricultural installatioin, it was fortified in the Middle-ages by the Normans in fight against Spoleto. Its ancient history identifys itself with the one from Orvieto and then with the one of the Papal States. Took by assault in 1365 by the troops of Annichio, it was often involved in the fights between the Orvietan families. |
