Rose compact on a spur of a rock around a castle from the XIIIth-XIVth century and it's an important agricultural centre. It has been part of Spoleto's Dukedom, afterwards in the XIth century, it belonged alternatively to Leonessa, Cascia and Spoleto, following their events. The commune of Poggiodomo was build under napoleonic government in 1809, after pontifical re-establishment it was reconfirmed in 1816 and again confirmed by the Italian State in 1860. Poggiodomo, Mucciafora, Roccatamburo and Usigni castles, followed alternatively Spoleto's dominion or Cascia's events, remaining under Cascia from 1553 until the constitution to commune. |
