First knowledge of the castle of Penna go back to 1425. It first belonged to the Orsini, then under jurisdiction of Amelia (1437), therefore Perugia and at last from 1479 on, under the direct government of the Church. In the first years of the XVIth century the Orsini reapear to exert power, to this family Penna it remains tied until the XVIIIth century. |
