La
storia della cittą
Rose, almost certainly, as a castle placed for the defence of the Valnerina in longobardic times Montefranco always followed the events of Dukedom of Spoleto and obtains communal liberty in 1258, suffers several short occupations, among those of Ottone IV in 1209 in fight with Innocenzo III and Abbot San Pietro in Valle in 1395. It was under the jurisdiction of the Church. Of the old fortress the two gates, Franca and Spoletina gates, and outer walls are left.
Montefranco is a lonley village, characteristic for its foreshortened panoramic sight and typically woods. |
