La storia della cittą

Probably born after first barbarian invasioins, it was also called Monregio or Monreale. First historical knowledge go back to the year 1004. Rose at the extreme edge of the perugian territory and therefore subjected to excursions and incursions of undisciplined soldiery mercenary troops, it became a military fortress. From ancient origins, Marsciano was nearly always subjected to Perugia to which it was given up to by Conti Bulgarelli. In the XIVth century it assumed great importance in the battle between Todi and Perugia. In the 400's it was contested between Perugia and Braccio Fortebraccio. After a sequence of alternate events it remains tied to Perugia's historical facts.
