La
storia della cittą
From certain prehistoric origins how the not far away hypogeum of Villa Sagraia and the fortified village of Bellona on the top of Mount Murlo testify, it was certainly submited to the Etruscans. Im 217 b.c., Hannibale put everything on fire and sword to punish the population which offered help to the defeated Romans. It's possible that Lisciano took its name from the roman family Lisius or Licius which had property in that area. In 1202 the castle placed itself under Perugia's protection which it stayed with until 1479 when it went back under pontifical government and in 1861 it was united to the Italian Kingdom. |
