Unknown origins, or it may be ro man, arises at the foot of a mountain chain entirely covered with oaks and pine woods. It belonged to the Abbey of Farfa then to the Orsini and Anguillaras; from the XIIIth century to thet XVII century it knew a period of considerable economical splendour, thanks commercial trade with Rome. Suffers heavy devastation for the plague in 1527 and plundering by french troops after an engagement they had with the Napolitan ones in 1798 |
