Rose on the banks of the Chiascio on a modest island, it was called Insula Vetus and successively Insula Roma- na. In the VIth century with the drying up of the lake, the centre began to be rortified becoming an important castle which assumed the actual name, even though it djdn't have a great important historical past. It never develops an autonomous life, harshly contended between As sisi and Perugia, of which it depended alternatively. Subjected to the Seigniory of Baglioni in the second hali of the XV'h century, remained their Feud until the extinction of the family (XVIIth century). |
