Small commune near Baschi, Alviano is a picturesque village of characteristic medieval look situated within a circle of hills in a beautiful panoramic position over the Tiber valley. Founded in 933 with the building of a fortalice, wanted by Ottone III, with the name "Albianum", it was always subjected from time to time to Orvieto and Todi. Restored in 1495 by Bartolomeo of Alviano, changes name suffering alternate events. |
