From uncertain origins, it was subjugated to Rome in 266 b.C., it was a centre of certain importance, such a lot, that it was recognized town council with the name "Tadinum". Lives difficult times when it suffered devastations, first by Hannibale, then by Cesare, Christianity was spread in the first half of the IIIrd century, thanks to S. Feliciano, bishop from Foligno. Sacked and destroyed by the Gothes, Totila himself was wounded to death and defeated. Rebuild in 1150, with the name Gualdum, in the actual position, long fighting against Perugia, then subjected to Spoleto and occupied 1459 it was annexed to the Pontiffstate. |
