The town, ones called "Mevania" is Umbrian-Etruscan origins, it became to be part of the Longobardie Duke dom of Spoleto after Longobardic in vasion. Follows destiny and vicissitudes of the neighbouring Foligno. In 1152 Federico Barbarossa set it on Fire and 1249 by the army of Federico IInd In 1375 it was again destroyed by Corrado Trinci, who in 1377, had it rebuild fortifying it with walls and towers. |
