Rose with the Benedictine colonization in the place where abbot sublacense Leone in the mid-Xth century found the body of Audace, hired ruffian, who killed at Rieti, Anatolia from the roman family of the Anicia in 253 and from her converted to Christianity before her death. In 1883 near the chief town, a necropolis of Naharci (VIIIth century) was discovered, of which paleoetruscan findings are preserved in the etruscan museum of Florence. It develops around a castle of which are preserved the walls which had been build by Spoleto in 1198. Follows Spoleto's events to which it was aggregated from 1927 to 1930. Of particular interest the religious buildings, especially for them containing an abundance of work of art. |
