The Porziuncola is located inside the patriarchal basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli. This tiny structure looks even smaller against the backdrop of the immense church surrounding it. It has an even shape and was built with local stone. The walls and the small apse have been left in their original condition, while the facade was almost completely frescoed in 1830 by Federico Overbek. The angels are escorting the saint, who can easily be distinguished on the right, to the church in which Christ and Mary appear. This represents the Pardon and the granting of the indulgence. The fifteenth-century door features floral motifs. There is also a Gothic-style bell tower over the facade.
